Privacy Policy & Cookie Choices

You control the optional cookies and data sharing on this site. Click below to change your yes/no answers at any time.
1. Who we are
AFFreeSportsPicks (“we”, “us”) operates www.affreesportspicks.com, a free sports-picks, track-record and chat-room site for entertainment purposes only. We are the controller (or “business”, under US state law) of the personal information described here.
Privacy questions or requests: privacy@affreesportspicks.com.
2. Who this applies to (US, Canada and worldwide)
We aim to meet the strictest applicable standard for every visitor, including: Canada’s PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25; US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island; the EU/UK GDPR and the ePrivacy (cookie) rules; Brazil’s LGPD; and Australia’s Privacy Act.
Age limit. This site is strictly for adults (19+ where required, 18+ elsewhere). We do not knowingly collect information from children or teens, and we do not sell or share the data of anyone under 16.
3. What we collect
- Account data: username, email address, hashed password, sign-in method (email or Google), and account status. Your email is never displayed publicly — other users only see your username.
- Subscription & payment data: subscription plan, status, renewal and cancellation dates, and a payment-processor customer/subscription ID. Card numbers are entered directly with Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Identity / age-verification data: only where a law or a payment partner requires it (for example age or identity checks). We keep the pass/fail result and the date, not copies of ID documents, unless a law obliges us to.
- Chat-room content: messages you post, timestamps and room visits. Anything you post in a chat room is visible to other members — treat it as public.
- Usage & device data: page views, hit counters, approximate region (from IP), browser type, referring page, and error logs.
- Support and feedback: including account-deletion feedback forms.
Picks are not personal advice. The picks, odds and track records we publish are the same for everyone, are for entertainment only, and are not financial, investment or gambling advice. We do not profile you to predict betting behaviour, and we do not make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
4. Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- Providing accounts, picks, chat rooms and subscriptions — performance of our contract with you.
- Security, fraud prevention, abuse moderation and record-keeping — our legitimate interests and legal obligations.
- Tax, accounting and payment records — legal obligation.
- Analytics, marketing and AI improvement — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
7. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States, Canada and the EU. Where data leaves your region we rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK IDTA/Addendum, and comparable-protection assessments required by PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25.
8. How long we keep it
- Account and profile data: while your account is open.
- Deleted accounts: purged within a short cool-down window after you confirm deletion (logins are blocked during that window).
- Payment and tax records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually 6–7 years).
- Analytics and log data: typically up to 26 months, then aggregated or deleted.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- Know what we hold and get a copy (access / portability).
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and data.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling.
- Withdraw consent at any time (use the button at the top of this page).
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and to de-index information (Quebec Law 25).
Email privacy@affreesportspicks.com. We answer within 30 days (extendable where the law allows) and never charge or penalise you for exercising a right. You can also complain to your regulator — the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, your state Attorney General, or your EU/UK supervisory authority.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level database access rules, role-restricted admin tools and audit logging. No system is perfect; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and regulators as the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
We will post any update here with a new “last updated” date, and re-ask for your cookie choices when a change materially affects them.
